Chionesu Bakari
WHO:
The Chionesu Bakari Program for Young Men is a mentoring program for young black males ages 8 to 18 to realize their noble promise as brothers, scholars, and leaders.
WHAT:
Through our year-round mentoring and Rites of Passage program, every participant receives group counseling, tutoring, finance education, training to combat racism, arts and media exposure, physical fitness & nutrition, non-violent conflict mediation/resolution, leadership development, Bible study, and educational and recreational trips.is dedicated to enriching the lives of young men through mentoring, exposure, education, and service.
IMPACT:
Over 300 young black males have successfully completed the mentorship and Rites of Passage program. One hundred percent have graduated from high school. Ninety-six percent are currently enrolled in colleges and universities nationwide.
